Here’s a curiosity (and a potential conversation starter).
“Militants,” signed by Rodney Thomson, “with apologies to Orson Lowell” ( a fellow illustrator)
Life Magazine, 27 Mar. 1913

I Xeroxed a copy of this Life cartoon from some sourcebook or another when I was an undergraduate. Unfortunately, I failed to note *which* text I copied from.
- Because the quality is rather poor, if you cannot read the print, the text says:
Row 1: “As they are”
Row 2:”As they think they are”
Row 3: “As they appear to the police and shopkeepers.”
