Piazza del Carmine

I visited the Brancacci Chapel at Santa Maria del Carmine on a blisteringly hot day. I sat on the church’s steps awaiting my timed entry to the chapel. From that perch, I took this photo of a piazza that encapsulates the heat of that day: all sources of shade seemed, like the tree, out of reach.
