Scaffold

On a whim one day, I walked to Santa Maria della Vittoria in positively sweltering heat to see Bernini’s Ecstasy of Saint Teresa.  It was surrounded on all sides.

Santa Maria della Vittoria is, by the way, a gorgeous church. I was surprised to find it empty except for one other person, but I was grateful for that solitude and quiet.
